Premiered in October 1992 at the Digital Symposium demoparty in Rotherham, England, "Jesus on E's" is nearly 27 solid minutes of heart-pumping jungle released during the height of rave culture, tracked on an Amiga 500 and set to flashy visuals that wouldn't be out of place on a projector wall in the back of a packed club. Despite its length, it was optimized to fit onto just two standard 880KB Amiga diskettes, and required both to be inserted simultaneously to run. "Jesus on E's" was polarizing upon its release and remains so today; many found its repetitive visuals to be boring, while others still were captivated by its nonstop, breakbeat-loaded soundtrack crafted by LSD member Echo.

In the spirit of the demoscene, "Jesus on E's" was released by LSD as public domain software. Distribution and sale was encouraged, with the one requirement that copies be sold for no more than £3.50 (~US$4.95), including the cost of "postage, media, and all other overheads."

Holding true to those wishes, DATALOG presents the soundtrack to "Jesus on E's" as a "negative profit" release. No profit will be derived from this release -- in fact, we will lose money -- but it will be made up for in creating an entry point for fresh faces to explore the art of the demoscene.
